Nancy J. Smith, age 93, wife of the late Howard "Mel" Smith, of Norristown, PA, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022 in the Brandywine Living at Senior Suites. Born on January 5, 1929 in Norristown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Charles W. Bickhart Sr. and Ethel M. (Redfern) Bickhart.

Mrs. Smith was a 1946 graduate of Norristown High School. She attended Pawling Independent Baptist Church in Phoenixville, PA. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who prioritized her family and loved being with them. She enjoyed spending time at the cabin her husband built in Sullivan County. Mrs. Smith was an avid reader, liked to complete crossword puzzles, and enjoyed watching the Phillies.

Mrs. Smith is survived by two sons, Barry, wife of Mary Smith of Osceola, PA and Ron Smith of Galax, VA; one daughter-in-law, Pat Smith of Trooper, PA; five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Glenn Smith, one grandson Christopher, and her twin brother, Charles W. Bickhart, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral ceremony at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., 610 South Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. Rogers H. Bowyer. Burial will follow in the St. Paul's Episcopal Church Cemetery, Oaks, PA. Friends will be received from 10:00 am - 11:00 am Thursday at the funeral home.
