Obituary

Nancy Elaine (Smoyer) Swavely, age 85, formerly from Linfield, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at the Parkhouse Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Royersford. Born on August 24, 1938, in Pottstown, she was a daughter of the late Hazel (Rohrbach) and Benjamin Smoyer.

Nancy had been a lifelong member of Linfield United Church of Christ and later in life a member of Grace Assembly of God, Spring City.

She was always interested in helping others be it a ride to the grocery store, doctors, or a day out of the house, you could count on her to be there and help. This willingness to help was evident in her years as a Girl Scout leader and as an active member of the Linfield Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to work with children and spent many happy years babysitting and working in a day care center.

Nancy retired from Spring-Ford Knitting Company, in Spring City where she worked as a seamstress. In her spare time, she enjoyed many types of crafts such as ceramics, crocheting, and baking.

Nancy is survived by her children: Linda, wife of Tim Bieber of Macungie and Lloyd Swavely Jr of Horsham; grandson: Tim Bieber Jr., and his wife Vickie; great-granddaughters: Emma and Gwen Bieber; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother: Benjamin Smoyer Jr. and sister: Joan Costa.

Interment will be at the Limerick Garden of Memories. A Time of Remembrance Celebration of Life will be held on July 13, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the home of Linda and Tim. Please join us in remembering and celebrating Nancy’s life.
