Natale A. DePietropaolo, age 85, husband of Betty Jane (Wright) DePietropaolo, of Spring City, PA, formerly of Royersford, PA died Thursday afternoon, January 10, 2007 in the Phoenixville Hospital.? Born in Spring City, he was a son of the late Michael and Catherine (Marino) DePietropaolo.? He attended the former Royersford High School.? A decorated World War II Veteran, Mr. Depietropaolo served for the 1st Army 99th Infantry Battalion.? He landed on Omaha Beach.? He received the following awards / medals; Silver Star, four Bronze Stars, The Purple Heart, which he received during the Battle of the Bulge, Combat Badge, and the WWII Victory Badge.? He also received a certificate from the Government of France for serving at Normandy.?
Mr. DePietropaolo worked for various construction firms in the area when he returned from the War. He also worked for the Photolastic Company in Malvern.? In later years, he worked for the Montgomery County Geriatric and Rehabilitation Center in Upper Providence Township, retiring in 1983.? Mr. DePietropaolo was a member of the St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Spring City.? He was also a life member of the Spring City Legion, The VFW in Royersford, The Liberty Fire Company in Spring City, the Friendship Fire Company in Royersford, and a charter member of the DAV in Pottstown.
In addition to his wife of 60 years, Mr. DePietropaolo is survived by three children; Wayne Michael DePietropaolo, of MS, Wanda C., wife of Dale Heffner, of FL, Tina M., wife of Christopher Damron, of MD, five grandchildren, one great-grandaughter, one sister; Rita Delagado, of AK, and many nieces and nephews.? Mr. DePietropaolo was pre-deceased by eleven brothers and sisters.?
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at the St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 3640 Schuylkill Road, Spring City, PA on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at 10:00 AM.? Officiating will be the Rev. Charles R. O'Hara.? Burial will be in the Fernwood Cemetery, Royersford.? Friends will be received from 7:00 - 8:30PM Monday evening at the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA, or on Tuesday morning from 9:30 - 10:00 AM at the Church.? There will be no viewing at the funeral home on Tuesday morning.? In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in his name to the St. Joseph's RC Church at the above address.?
