Ned E. Offner, age 82 , husband of Lynnda K. (Kocher) Offner and the late Marlene L. Offner, of Royersford, PA passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2013 in the Paoli Hospital. Born in Norristown, he was a son of the late Claude and Mildred (Townsend) Offner.
Mr. Offner was an active member of the Valley Forge Baptist Temple, where he tried to never miss the Wednesday night prayer service. He was involved with the Seasoned Saints Adult Bible Fellowship, and made many friends at Church through the years. He worked as a Police Officer for the Norristown Police Department, and was Chief of Police in Lower Frederick. He liked to keep himself active, enjoyed working outside and gardening.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Offner is survived by three daughters, Terry E. Offner of Schwenksville, Wendy L., wife of David Kanarish of Doylestown, Sonja M. Allebach and Mark Allebach of Royersford; two sons, Eric B., husband of Kim Offner of North Coventry, Paul L. Offner and Debra Offner of Limerick; three step-daughters, Susan, wife of Mark Sawchuk of Royersford, Jacklyn Keeley of Allentown, Kristen, husband of Marty Weis of Havertown; nineteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three siblings, Betty Kalb, Donald and Ray Offner.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the Valley Forge Baptist Temple, 616 S. Trappe Road, Collegeville, PA 19426 on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be the Rev. Scott E. Wendal. Burial will follow in the Limerick Garden of Memories. Friends will be received at the church from 9:00-10:45 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered in his name to the Valley Forge Baptist Temple Missionary Fund at the address above.
