Norma Jean (Zimmerman) Smith, 90, of Harleysville passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at the Peter Becker Community. Born on April 3, 1929 in Mont Clare, PA, she was the beloved wife of the late Donald Earl Smith, and daughter of the late Freeman R. & Kathryn (Yerger) Zimmerman.

Mrs. Smith was a lifelong and dedicated member of the Green Tree Church and was also involved in many church organizations such as becoming a deaconess, and teaching Sunday School for many years. Norma worked for many years in the Phoenixville School System beginning at the High School and later the Schuylkill School. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting and continued to do so during her time at the Peter Becker Community, she was also an avid reader, and a talented artist. She also loved to cook and bake for her family, and enjoyed gardening whenever she had the opportunity. Mrs. Smith was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a dear friend to all and she will be missed by many.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her two daughters, Kathy Clark, and Nancy J. (David) Sandy, Five grandchildren, Jeremy Fleming, Carson Sandy, Dylan Szczepanski, Justin Clark and Caitlin Hilton; Four great-grandchildren, Anna Claire, Hoyt and Ellie Batton Fleming, and Autumn Willow Hilton. Norma is also survived by one cousin, Glen Yerger, and many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and loving husband, she was preceded in death by her by dearest Aunt and Uncle, Paul & Frances Yerger; One sister, Doris Zimmerman Rearick, and one cousin Nancy Yerger Smith.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, December 9, 2019 from 9:45AM - 10:45AM at the Green Tree Church Of The Brethren, 1078 Egypt Rd, Oaks PA, 19456. A funeral ceremony will follow the calling time at 11:00AM at the church. Officiating will be the Reverend Rodney O’Donnell. Burial will take place in the Green Tree Church Cemetery.
