Oscar E. Hoffert, age 73, of Pottstown, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2008, in his residence.? Born in Phoenixville, he was a son of the late William L. Hoffert and Betty (Mervine) Hoffert Kimes Bivinghouse.?
Mr. Hoffert was a 1953 graduate of Royersford High School.? He delivered auto parts for Dames Chevrolet.? He served in the United States Air Force and was proud of his medals, commendations, and service.? An avid Air Force collector, Mr. Hoffert collected model planes and was a contributor to the Armed Forces and Aerospace Museum.? He was a member of the Pottstown Quoit Club, the Holy Trinity Club, the Royersford VFW Post 6341, Friendship Fire Co., Royersford, Spring City American Legion Thomas W. O'Connor Post No. 602, Morgantown American Legion Col. Jacob Morgan Post No. 537, and the Pikeville Sportsman Club.?
Mr. Hoffert is survived by a step-sister Dorothy Nettles of Lebanon, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.? He was preceded in death by sister Anna Schnovel and brothers Robert and Charles Hoffert.? ?
