Patricia M. Close, age 82, wife of the late Joseph W. Close, of Royersford, PA, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2019 in the Manatawny Manor. Born on June 2, 1936 in Pottsville, PA, she was a daughter of the late William and Ella (Shay) Schartel.

Mrs. Close attended Pottsville High School, and later in life proudly received her GED. Her family was her life, and she cherished all of the memories and time spent with them. She enjoyed being with friends, listening to country music and Elvis Presley music, and traveling to the beach.

Mrs. Close is survived by two daughters, Kayanne, wife of Jorge Perez of Cooper City, FL and Ellen M., wife of Greg Riegel of Royersford, PA; four grandchildren, Ryan McDaniel, MK2, U.S. Coast Guard, Sean, husband of Robin Riegel, Laura, wife of Josh Moyer, and Kayla Riegel; one great-grandson, Christian Riegel; one sister-in-law Beverly Schartel; and five nephews, Billy, Charlie, Patrick, Dougie, and Jimmy. She was preceded in death by two siblings, Kay and William Schartel.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA 19468 on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 11:00 AM. There will be a visitation in the funeral home from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
