Patricia Ann (Johnson) Wilson, 77, wife of Robert F. Wilson Sr., of Malvern, died Monday, February 1, 2010, in the Neighborhood Hospice. Born in Drexel Hill, PA, she was the daughter of the late Knute and Dorothy (Pauling) Johnson.

Mrs. Wilson was a 1950 graduate of Upper Darby High School and attended the Pennsylvania State University. She loved to travel, especially within the U.S. mainland, Hawaii, the Bahamas, and Mexico.

An avid horseback rider, she was a member of the Eastern Competitive Trail Riders Association (ECTRA), the Circle T Trail Riders, the League of Maryland Horsemen, the Tri-State Riding Club, and the Valley Lea Riding Club.

She hosted, organized and rode the Circle T Horseshoe Trail Ride for many years. She hardly ever missed the Maryland 4 Day Challenge Ride. They both were her favorite rides of the year. She led and organized the Valley Forge and Green Lane Weekend ride for all the trail riding clubs to enjoy. She won a trophy for the highest League riding hours for that year.

Years ago she did some endurance and competitive rides: Cornwall Competitive Ride in PA (her first competitive ride placing Fourth); Old Dominion US 100 Mile endurance ride in Leesburg, VA (her first endurance ride, completing 75 miles); Fort Valley in VA-50 mile endurance ride (completing 25 miles); Punxsutawney in PA-50 mile endurance ride (completing 25 miles); Old Dominion US 100 mile endurance ride in Leesburg, VA (placing top ten of 50 miles); Cheshire Competitive Ride in Unionville (her last competitive and endurance ride).

She is survived by: Four Daughters; Diane Tait, of Honeybrook, PA, Debbie Brodowski, of Coatesville, PA, Sandy Obendorfer, of Spring City, PA, and Kathy Vogt, of Philadelphia, PA; One Son; Robert Wilson, Jr., of Malvern, PA; One Sister; Eilleen Ricci, of Blackwood, NJ; Seven grandchildren and Two Great-Grandsons.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA, on Saturday afternoon, February 6, 2010, at 2:00 PM. Officiating will be Rev. John Draper. Friends will be received from 1:00-2:00 PM Saturday afternoon at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, 1615 West Chester Pike, Suite 102, West Chester, PA 19382.
