Paul D. Griggs, 73, husband of Charlotte (Nuttall) Griggs, of Phoenixville, passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2010, in his residence. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Alfred Bowman Griggs and Mary (Archer) Griggs.

Mr. Griggs was a 1955 graduate of Upper Darby High School and a 1959 graduate of Dickinson College, where he received a B.A. in English. While at Dickinson, he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and played the saxophone for the band Bobby Safford and the Corkers.

He spent most of his life in industrial sales. In 1980, he started Davlyn Manufacturing Company in Spring City with Thomas L. Weil. Paul and his son Jason worked together over the past decade on various real estate projects together. Paul enjoyed golf, fishing, and chess, and especially music. Paul had a particular appreciation and love of jazz both playing and listening. He also loved spending time at his home in Pawleys Island, S.C.

In addition to his wife of 52 years, Mr. Griggs is survived by his son, Jason husband of Tammy Griggs of Limerick, three grandchildren, Jenna, Allison, and Evan Griggs, beloved cousins, and many longtime and recent friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, on Thursday, December 16, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. Friends will be received following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Paul Griggs Memorial Fund, c/o National Penn Bank, 702 S.
