Paul Hicks, Jr., 91, husband of Dorothy Marie (Washington) Hicks of Spring City, formerly of
Phoenixville, died at home on Saturday, July 2, 2011 after a long illness.

Born September 12, 1919 in Downingtown, PA to the late Edith (Trowery) and the late Paul
Hicks, Sr., he attended Downingtown High School and served as a Sergeant in the U.S Army.
Paul was a veteran of World War II and worked at the Phoenix Steel Company as a crane
operator until his retirement.

Paul will be especially remembered for his love of cars and airplanes. He was a licensed pilot
and a member of the Valley Forge Signal Seekers radio control airplane club.

In addition to his wife of sixty-nine years, Paul is survived by five sons; Curtis, Gary, Bruce,
Darryl, and David; and five daughters; Sandra Young, Arlene Spence, Cynthia (Philip) Pitchford,
Brenda (widow of Steven) Nixon, and Barbara (Hubert) Munnings. He is also survived by
seventeen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. He
will be fondly remembered by his beloved niece Edith King Chambers.

Paul was preceded in death by his eldest son, Paul Hicks III; two brothers, John and Charles
Hicks; and three sisters, Mabel Hicks, Edith King, and Eva Wilson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach
Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA on Friday, July 8, 2011, at
11:00 a.m.

Interment will follow at Morris Cemetery, 428 Nutt Road, Phoenixville, PA.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, July 8
from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home.
