It is with broken hearts and tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Paul M. Holliday, age 57, loving Husband of Betsy Holliday of Exeter Township, Pennsylvania.
Paul's life cannot be summarized in just a few short paragraphs; as no words can do justice to the man he was and heart he had for his family and friends. His loving spirit, deep desire to serve others, and outstanding ability to care for those around him will forever be the reason that our world was better with him in it.
After one conversation with Paul, one would describe him as generous, kind, and funny. Yet, to his family, he was so much more. He was the person with the biggest hug, the corniest dad jokes, and person to always provide a sense of calmness and safety to everyone around him.
Paul was born in Pottstown, and he was the Son of F. Marlene "Dotterer" and Aaron J. Holliday. Paul is survived by his beautiful wife, Betsy Holliday, his 4 children, Shaun Holliday, Marcus Holliday, Connor Holliday, husband of Hannah Holliday (Thomas), and Emily Holliday, his brother, Rev. John C. Holliday, his two grand-daughters, Eloise and Vivienne Holliday, as well as several nieces and nephews. (and his fur-babies - Max, Ivy, and Cash) He was preceded in death by his parents Aaron and F. Marlene Holliday, as well as his cousin David Wargo and Uncle David R. Dotterer in addition to many other beloved family members.
Paul worked as a Law Enforcement Officer for 30 years. With the majority of his time spent at North Coventry Police Department, he made a lasting impression on the community members and the coworkers he had the pleasure of serving with. Despite Paul's grueling work schedule and unpredictable lifestyle that came with being a police officer, his priority always remained his family and their happiness.
Paul will be remembered for his selfless nature and his ability to make the most mundane moments the most memorable. He was the man who brought the magic to the holidays and the joy to all that life had to offer. Paul was an amazing cook and the first to tell you about his love for Corgis, guns, and funny family photos.
It is hard to understand why the Lord calls us home when he does. Our minds cannot make sense of this kind of loss and Paul had so much life ahead of him. Yet, there is beauty and peace in knowing that Paul's time to be in heaven is now and he was welcomed home and will forever be held in the arms of Jesus. There is hope knowing that he is safe in the Kingdom of God - dancing with his Mom, joking with his Dad, napping with Wax in the most comfortable recliner, and forever watching over his family here on earth with adoration and love.
We are the people we are because we knew Paul. Thank you, Paul for being the perfect example of everything we should aspire to be; selfless, faithful, and full of joy. We look forward to our eternal reunion with you at heaven's gates.
You are forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever alive in our hearts.
