Paul R. Kocher, 91, husband of the late Helen E. (Westcott) Kocher, of Royersford, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2010, in the Phoenixville Hospital. Born in Easton, he was a son of the late Paul R. and Estella (Conahay) Kocher.

Mr. Kocher was a graduate of Easton High School. He served 16 years in the United States Navy, serving aboard Air Craft Carriers, such as the USS Lexington, USS Yorktown, USS Saratoga, USS Antietam, USS Oriskiny, and others. He went on to graduate from West Chester College and the Naval School of Music. Mr. Kocher taught world cultures for about 20 years at the Great Valley School District.

He served as the president of the Spring City Borough Council for many years and served on the board of the Spring City Library. Mr. Kocher was a member of the Spring City American Legion and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon Spring City Forest 34. In his retirement he traveled extensively throughout the US in his RV.

Mr. Kocher is survived by two daughters, Lynnda, wife of Ned Offner, of Royersford, and Pamela, wife of Gerald Witmer, of Forsyth, Montana, six grandchildren, Susan (Mark) Sawchuk, Jacklyn Keeley, Kristen (Martin) Weis, Wendy (Robert) Maroni, Gerald (Julie) Witmer Jr., and Deborah (Hans) Kahler, twelve great grandchildren, Erik, Alex, and Jessica Sawchuk, John Thomas, Luke, and Keeley Weis, Zachary, Madison, and Taylor Manley, Emily and Ethan Kahler, and Lily Witmer, one great great granddaughter, Eva Sawchuk, and two nephews, William and David Stephens. He was preceded in death by his brother Fred Kocher and a son-in-law Jack Keeley.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, on Friday, April 30, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev.
