Pauline C. (Lascoskie) Gappa, age 93, wife of the late Joseph J. Gappa, Sr., of Phoenixville, PA and Millsboro, DE, died Monday afternoon, April 8, 2013 in the Phoenixville Hospital, Phoenixville, PA. Born in Trevorton, PA, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Agnes C. (Ziemba) Lascoskie.
Pauline was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Life Member of Kimberton Fire Company Auxiliary, Life Member and Past President of West End Fire Company Auxiliary, Member of the Spring City American Legion Auxiliary Unit 302, and Phoenixville Women of the Moose.
Pauline was a woman of strong Faith and she loved her family unconditionally. She was recognized for her 57 years of making donuts for the Kimberton Fire Co. Auxiliary and was presented the 2012 Kimberton Fair Person of the Year Award. Pauline was awarded the 2012 PA Dept. of Agriculture Fair Ambassador Award. The Delaware Technical and Community College Alumni Legacy Scholarship was presented twice in her honor. Pauline was fondly known and recognized by many as the "Donut Lady" and she was widely known for her filled cabbage, Polish Pound Cake and Cherry Cheese Pies. Pauline loved to play bingo and travel to the Casino.
Mrs. Gappa is survived by eight children: Barbara (Stephen), Joseph (Linda), Raymond (Ethel), Gregory (Nola), Michelle (Louis), Lisa (Robert), David, and Constance (David); two sisters: Agnes and Monica; one brother: Anthony; a multitude of grandchildren, great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter: Emma Grace Stitzer; and her adopted son: Alex (Heather). She also leaves behind her lifetime friends Millie and Pat. Mrs. Gappa was pre-deceased by one son: Louis and one grandson Jay.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at the St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 3640 Schuylkill Road, Spring City, PA on Friday morning, May 3, 2013 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be from 9:45 am to 10:45 am. Burial will be private. It was Pauline's wish that no flowers be sent. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in her memory to "Pauline C.
