Pauline (Lumis) Keller, 91, wife of the late William Earl Keller, longtime resident of East Pikeland Twp., died on Tuesday, September 8 at Manatawny Manor, Pottstown of natural causes.

She was born June 22, 1918 in Birchrunville, where she attended the one room school at which she would later begin her teaching career. She attended high school in Phoenixville and received a B.S. in Education from West Chester State Teachers College, West Chester, PA. In addition to the Birchrunville School, she taught in Charlestown Twp. and the Vincent Twps. Elementary School in the Owen J. Roberts School District during a thirty year teaching career in public schools.
Pauline was an active member of the East Vincent United Church of Christ where during her many years of faithful service was a member of the choir, Sunday School Superintendent and teacher, church historian, librarian and served on consistory as both Deacon and Elder.

Her interests included history and drama. She wrote, produced and directed many plays which were performed both in the schools with her students and at the church. In her retirement years she enjoyed presenting monologues about the lives of Sarah Lincoln and Martha Washington to school classes and organizations.
Pauline's volunteer community service included work with the USO during WW II at the Valley Forge General Hospital, and with the American Red Cross Bloodmobile program in the Phoenixville area.

She is survived by one son, Bill and wife Eleanor of Phoenixville, one granddaughter, Rebecca, of Orlando, FL and three great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service to be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at East Vincent United Church of Christ, 282 Hill Church Road, Spring City, PA 19475. Calling hours are from 10-11 AM at the church.
