Pearl Inez (Neil) Emery, age 92, of Bloomsburg, PA, passed away peacefully at the Bloomsburg Health Care Center in Bloomsburg, PA on Tuesday, June 7, 2011. Born in Staunton, VA, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Bertha (Rexrode) Neil. She was the wife of the late Morris W. Henry, and the late Winton C. "Whitey" Emery. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt.
Mrs. Emery is survived by her son Barry Henry and his wife JoAnn, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Fay Cressman, Betty Erwin and her husband Bob, and Dorothy Seitz and her husband Harry. Mrs. Emery is likewise survived by Larry Emery and his wife Wanda, and her nephew Mark Erwin and his wife Sue. She was predeceased by two sons, Wayne and Richard Henry, and her sister Angela Neil.
As a young girl, Mrs. Emery attended the Green Tree Church of the Brethren and then the Immanuel Church of the Brethren. She worked at the Burroughs Corporation in Paoli, PA until her retirement in 1985. She was also an active member in the Bloomsburg Senior Center. Mrs. Emery enjoyed going to yard sales, reading, and knitting where she has made an afghan for every member of her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at the Green Tree Church of the Brethren, 1078 Egypt Road, Oaks, PA 19456 on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 11:00am. Reverend David A. Leiter will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Green Tree Cemetery. Friends will be received at the church from 9:45-10:45am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Columbia Montour Home Health, 410 Glenn Avenue, Suite 200, Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
