Perry H. Kratz, age 75, husband of the late Joan Hastings Kratz, of Collegeville, PA died early Friday morning, June 28, 2013 in the Phoenixville Hospital, Phoenixville, PA. Mr. Kratz was a graduate of the Collegeville High School. He lived most of his life in the Collegeville area. A veteran, he served for the U.S. Army. Mr. Kratz worked for many years in the Floral industry. He started in Norristown as a designer for the Steffens Flower shop. He then worked for Zieger and Sons in Philadelphia. Later in life Mr. Kratz became a representative for the Attick's Inc. Flower wholesale company in West Hazleton, PA. He was a well known designer in the area and received many awards over the years. He was a member of the St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Trappe, PA. Mr. Kratz also volunteered for the Collegville Fire Company for many years.
Mr. Kratz is survived by his companion of 10 years, Yvonne M. Patterson, of Collegeville, PA; four siblings: Willard H., of Kansas, Paul H., of Florida; June D. Kirk, of Limerick, PA; Nancy J. Schreiber, of Kansas; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at the St. Luke's United Church of Christ, 200 West Main Street, Trappe, PA 19426 on Wednesday, July 3rd, 2013 at 10:30 AM. Officiating will be the Rev. Ann Tweedie Few. Burial will be in the Providence Mennonite Cemetery, Collegeville, PA. Friends will be received from 9:00 - 10:15 AM Wednesday morning at the Church.
