Obituary

Peter Campbell Brown, age 65, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. Born on December 30, 1958 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Joanne (Campbell) and Dr. Frank Brown, Jr.

Peter was a 1977 graduate of Phoenixville High School, and he received his bachelor's degree from Gettysburg College in 1981. Following graduation, he worked for many years at Vanguard before beginning his most recent career as a real estate agent for Berkshire Hathaway in Exton.

Peter was a champion for historical preservation, and he was a member and served as Past President of the Historical Society of the Phoenixville Area. He was a supporter of the arts and had a fascination for architecture and nature, often attending lectures and nature tours. He loved collecting antiques, and, having been a member of the Post Card Club, had an admirable collection of postcards.

Peter received his certificate as a master gardener from Penn State University, cultivated plants, and through his recycling and composting was conscientious of the world around us. He enjoyed vacationing in Canada at the family's cabin on Lake Weslemkoon and frequently took trips to Ocean City, NJ. He loved ice cream and enjoyed baking, cooking, and sharing recipes. He was also involved with the research of his family ancestry and genealogy. He was the master of a good deal and meticulously planned his yard sale and flea market excursions.

Peter is survived by three siblings, Miriam (Mimi) L., wife of Daniel Tompkins, Scott E. Brown, husband of Linda Cornwell, and Robert (Bob) E. Brown, husband of Anna Brown; six nieces and nephews, Adam Tompkins, Alison Bussart, Rebecca (Becky) Wojcik, Jason Brown, Emily Brown, and Benjamin Brown; and four great-nieces and nephews.
