Obituary

Phyllis H. Prizer, age 89, of Pughtown, PA, passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 1, 2023 in the Columbia Cottage, Collegeville, PA. She was the devoted and loving wife the late David R. Prizer, sharing 57 years of marriage before his passing in 2013. Born on July 20, 1933 in Norristown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd A. and Florence (Reiff) Heebner and grew up on the family farm in Worcester.

Phyllis attended Worcester schools and graduated from Norristown High School, class of 1951. She received her Bachelor's degree in Education from the Penn State University, class of 1955. She taught for 4 years at West End Elementary School in Pottstown and at Mrs. Roth's Nursery School in Pottstown before joining her husband in the family's business, Prizers Appliances, Inc. Phyllis was a very fair and caring employer to those that worked at Prizers.

Phyllis was always thinking of others and was very kind and caring to all. She attended the Central Schwenkfelder church from birth until her marriage to Dave and then she became a faithful member of Brownbacks United Church of Christ, teaching Sunday School for over 40 years, served on the consistory, was on the history committee as well as the music and worship committee and also shared her talents as an organist and pianist.

Phyllis enjoyed traveling with her husband. They went many wonderful places Hawaii,Alaska,London, Paris, Germany where she got to meet a pen pal she had from childhood! Often she could be found attending her grandson's baseball games, all while keeping score, from his little league games through his college career. Her family was by far most important to her, and she cherished the time spent together.

Phyllis is survived by one daughter, Linda Anne, wife of James G. Raifsnider of Pottstown; two grandchildren, David S. Raifsnider and his companion, Kristen Emig and Holly M., wife of David Clarke; and two great-grandchildren, Frank and Adelaide Clarke. Along with sisters-in-law, Susan C. Heebner, Dorothy W.
