Obituary

Rafael Rivera, age 69, husband of Cynthia D. (Bealer) Rivera, of Douglassville, PA, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2017 in the Seasons Hospice, Phoenixville, PA. Born on November 15, 1947 in Puerto Rico, he was a son of the late Augustine Rivera and Aurora Caraballo.

Rafael, or Felo, as he was also referred to, worked as a die setter for Penco Products. He had a passion for cars, especially, his 1957 Chevy. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing solitaire, and tetris. He enjoyed shooting pool with his brother Jesus and nephew Jesus, Jr., whom he would blank out sometimes. Rafael also cherished the time he spent around his family, especially Sunday nights when we would gather for dinner.

He was a devoted and loving Husband and Father to his children and his grandchildren. He took the time to teach them what it meant to be a role model as a father and a stand up man among men. His lasting impression on those around him and knew him, will be carried throughout the rest of their days.

Those that had the honor of knowing Rafael, knew that he was a man of integrity and honor.

Mr. Rivera is survived by seven children, Mildred Rivera of New Bedford, MA, Juanita Rivera of New Bedford, MA, Stephen D., husband of Wendy Vazquez of Gilbertsville, PA, Rafael Jr., husband of Bethany Rivera of Indianapolis, IN, Lucas S., husband of Christina Rivera of Sanatoga, PA, Alicia M., wife of Paul Levengood of Douglassville, PA, and Amanda J., wife of Michael Foley of Douglassville, PA; four siblings, Jesus, Tina, Marta, Sara; eighteen grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
