Obituary

Rhoda (Piper) Tay, 87, wife of George H. Tay Jr., of Royersford, passed away on Monday, June 14, 2010, in the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Petersburg, PA, she was a daughter of the late Plummer and Edith (Bigelow) Piper.

Mrs. Tay was employed as a secretary at the local Manpower Inc. She was an active member of the Church of the Epiphany Episcopal Church in Royersford and volunteered with Project Outreach and the Kiwanis Club of Phoenixville. She liked to sew and knit, collected, made and repaired dolls, and was involved in her family's lives.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Tay is survived by her son, James R. Tay Sr. and wife Judith, of Phoenixville, three grandchildren, James Jr., Jessica, and Joshua, and one great grandson, James III.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at the Church of the Epiphany Episcopal Church, 209 S. 3rd Avenue, Royersford, PA 19468, on Saturday, June 19, 2010, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Mike Haines officiating. Memorial gifts may be made in Rhoda's name to the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind, 555 Gettysburg Pike, Suite A300, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, of to the Church.
