Obituary

Richard R. Fetterman, Sr., age 83, husband of Sandra L. (Berkey) Fetterman, of Royersford, PA passed peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday evening, October 7, 2011 in the Phoenixville Hospital from complications of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Born in Phoenixville on December 8, 1927, he was a son of the late Charles R. and Ella P. (Tarter) Fetterman. Mr. Fetterman joined the Merchant Marines at the age of 15. He later joined the Marine Corp and served during World War II in Iwo Jima and Saipan.

Mr. Fetterman worked for over 32 years at Valley Maid and Bachman as a driver, and in later years was a supervisor. He retired from Bachman in 1991, and worked part time at Genuardi's in Kimberton. Dick was a founding member of Camp Little Big Buck in Roxbury, PA, where he and his family spent many good times. He is a member of the St. James United Church of Christ in Limerick and the American Legion Post 0602 in Spring City. He is also a current member and past Commandant of the Paul Seton / George Pron Detachment of the Marine Corp League.

In addition to his wife of 31 years, Mr. Fetterman is survived by four daughters; Patricia, wife of Kenneth Mickiewicz of Douglassville, Donna, wife of Rear Admiral Retired, Daniel Stone of Camarillo CA, Susan, wife of Charles Ewing, Jr of Royersford and Karen, wife of Todd Hartzman of Douglassville, two sons; Richard, Jr of Royersford, James of Pottstown and step-son Donald (Risa) Geihsler of Spring City, eighteen grandchildren; Theresa Troutman, Douglassville, Darren Miskiewicz and his wife Amy, Spring City, Kevin Miskiewicz and his partner Tami, Royersford, Melissa, wife of Todd Partridge, Holliston MA, Chris, wife of Patrick Hurley, San Diego CA, Todd Fetterman, Temple , Bryan Fetterman, Royersford, Erin Fetterman, Pottstown, Shannon Ewing, fiancé of Brian Yeagley, Royersford, Marc Ewing and wife Dana, Pottstown, Steven Ewing and fiancé Erica Donovan, Phoenixville, Nicholas and Kristyn Fetterman, East Coventry, Robert Hartzman and wife Genevieve, Schwenksville, Melissa, wife of Frank DePaul, Pottstown, Karissa Lance, Douglassville, Andrew Hartzman, Douglassville and Donald "DJ" Geihsler , Jr of Spring City, five great-grandchildren; Andrew Mickiewicz, Spring City, Annabel Hurley, San Diego CA, Jackson and Charles Partridge, Holliston MA, Taylor Ingram, Pottstown, Lillie Ewing, of Phoenixville, step-mother-in-law Nieda Berkey, of Pottstown, seven sisters; Pearl, wife of Joseph Sparano, Phoenixville, Virginia Domarasky, Phoenixville, Arlene, widow of Walter Cory, Norristown, Verna, widow of Harry Severson, Royersford, Mabel, widow of Frederick Schutz, Phoenixville, Sara Rudzik, Phoenixville Gloria Hatfield wife of Donald Chester Springs, and his beloved Shih Tzu, Toby.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA on Wednesday morning, October 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be the Rev. Rachael R. Pryor. Burial will be in the Limerick Garden of Memories. Friends will be received from 9:00 - 10:45AM Wednesday morning at the funeral home.
