Richard R. Peltier, age 72, of Downingtown, PA, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026 at home. Born on May 28, 1954 in Cleveland, OH, he was a son of the late Frederic and Esther (Allerton) Peltier.

Mr. Peltier was a graduate of Chatham Township High School in New Jersey, class of 1973. He completed his undergraduate studies and received his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Lafayette College. He would then go on to earn his master's degree in computer science from Villanova University. Utilizing his chemical engineering background, Mr. Peltier retired from a career in software development at Merck Pharmaceuticals. He was an avid traveler, and especially enjoyed cruising.

Mr. Peltier is survived by his loving companion, Kathleen Nakata; two children, Lisa, wife of Ezra Kissel and Eric Peltier, husband of Kelly Kiernan, and their mother, Lori Peltier; four grandchildren, Henry and Charlotte Kissel and Penelope and Graham Peltier; one sister, Laura, wife of Shibly Malouf; and a niece and nephew, Nicole and David. He was preceded in death by one brother, David Peltier.
