Rita C. Smith, 92, of Alexandria, VA and formerly of Phoenixville, died on July 16, 2009 at Alexandria Hospital. She had been a resident of Alexandria the last few years after living most of her life in Phoenixville.

While in Phoenixville, she worked in the accounting department of Superior Tube of Collegeville. She was also a member of St. Ann Church.

She is survived by a nephew, John H. Broadbent III, of Alexandria, VA. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth S. Broadbent.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at St. Ann Church, Main St. at Third Avenue, Phoenixville, PA at 11 AM. Officiating will be Rev. John J. Newns. Interment will follow in Philadelphia Memorial Park. Friends may call at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 AM. Memorials may me made to the Phoenixville Historical Society.
