Rita M. (Flasher) Greenland, age 93, wife of the late Raymond D. Greenland of Spring City, Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 in the Laureldale Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Kimberton, she was a daughter of the late Emma (Prough) and Albert Flasher.

Rita most recently had been employed in dietary at the Phoenixville Hospital and was a member of Parker Ford Brethren Church and the Ladies Auxiliary at the Ridge Fire Co., Spring City.

Rita had an immense sense of self-independence, never wanting to take a hand or take grief from anyone. It was through this independence, not wanting to be waited on, and her love of being in the outdoors, that she enjoyed mowing her grass. At the same time, she was willing to do for others, as she devotedly cared for her husband while he was ill.

Rita loved cooking for people, especially decorating and hosting family meals for the holidays. She made sure her guests were well fed, and if they didn't eat, they wore it!

She liked playing BINGO, completing puzzles with her husband, and was a word search fanatic, all the way up until her passing. She was an avid sports fan; enjoying football and baseball, particularly the Atlanta Braves, college football, women's softball, UFC, the Olympics (Winter more so than Summer), and the Little League World Series, which she was watching when she passed away.

Rita is survived by her children: Donna K. Wolkowicz and Tim R. Greenland; grandchildren: Stephen Strus Jr., John Strus, Josh Greenland, and Kelly Renney; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother: Ben Flasher; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by eight siblings.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford. Officiating will be the Rev. David R. Willauer. Interment will follow in the Limerick Garden of Memories. Friends will be received from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at the funeral home.
