Robert B. Frees
"A Lifetime of Service to Phoenixville"

Robert Brinton Frees, Bob as we knew him, died suddenly on Monday, June 17, 2024 in Cincinnati, Ohio while on vacation.

A Phoenixville native from his birth, he was the son of Walter Kirk Frees and Elizabeth Arnold Frees, both deceased. After graduation from Phoenixville High School in 1971, he attended Kutztown University where he received a BS in psychology. He worked at local restaurants all his life until his retirement. In recent years he worked as a crossing guard for the Phoenixville Area School District.

Bob dedicated his life to serving others, particularly through the Phoenixville Jaycees and Kiwanis organizations. He was an active member of the Jaycees, chairing a number of their projects and serving as President. He was a member of the Phoenixville Kiwanis Club for 31 years and also served that organization as President. Bob was also a very active member for over 44 years of Phoenix Lodge #75 Free and Accepted Masons, where he served as Master for multiple years. He also served as a leader in the Masonic Schools of Instruction for other Masonic lodges in addition to Phoenixville.

Bob loved to travel! From trips to Germany and London during his high school years, he wanted to see the world. Cruises with his close friends were his favorite means of doing just that. Closer to home, he loved eating at the Shady Maple buffet!

As a member of American Coaster Enthusiasts, Bob attended EastCoaster for 30 years and Coaster Con events for the last four years. He would frequently travel to amusement parks for the day to ride roller coasters. It is fitting that he was visiting an amusement park to ride roller coasters at the time of his passing.

Bob is survived by his sister Sue Thomas (Brian), of Palm Coast Florida, as well as numerous cousins on the Frees and Arnold sides of the family. He will be so very missed by his friends and colleagues in Kiwanis, Jaycees and the Masonic Lodge where his amazing memorization skills were legendary.

A Celebration of Life honoring Bob will follow a Masonic Service in Bob's memory at eleven o'clock on Friday, September 27, 2024, at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., 610 Main Street, Phoenixville.
