Obituary

Robert D. Hines, age 53, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at home. Born on June 19, 1963 in Lansdale, PA, he was a son of Richard Hines Sr. and the late Carol (Lewis) Marshall.

Robb was a proud veteran, serving in the United States Air Force on an Air Training Command Air Force Base. He was extremely devoted to his family, from taking care of his Mother when she fell ill, to taking his grandchildren almost anywhere he went. He was a social butterfly and a genuinely good person. He gave all of himself to everyone he loved, and would talk to and offer a hand to anyone in need.

Robb was a lover of coffee, and would frequent the Penn Diner in Phoenixville, the Spring-Ford Diner in Spring City, and the All American in Lansdale. He was an avid dirt track stock car racing fan, frequently traveling to Grandview Speedway in Boyertown with his son, Ethan. He loved baseball, and was a fan of both the Phillies and the Yankees. Although he was a Phillies fan, he boycotted Citizens Bank Park, because "it's just not the Vet." He also followed Japanese baseball, and was inspired by their regimented training. His dream was to travel to Japan and see a game or many!

Robb was so proud of his daughter, Allison, throughout her schooling and to this day while she attended Montgomery County Community College. He was also proud to watch his son Ethan come of age to drive. Each birthday, he would purchase the new MLB the Show video game for Ethan to enjoy.

Robb is survived two children, Allison M. Hines and her mother Amy T. Hines of Phoenixville, and Ethan A. Hines and his mother Jessica E. Clifford of Royersford; two grandchildren, Ainsley R. Hines and Brycen A. Carter; two siblings, Richard Hines, Jr. of Red Hill and Holly A. Marshall of Maryland; and one step-son, August Stauffer of Phoenixville.
