Robert W. Kiehl's Obituary
Robert W. "Bob" Kiehl, 77, husband of Deborah J. (Pennell) Kiehl, of Kimberton, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2009, in the Phoenixville Hospital. Born in Lansdale, he was a son of the late William R. and Frances M. (Ditton) Kiehl.
Mr. Kiehl was a 1949 graduate of the former Lansdale High School and then received a degree in engineering from Drexel University and a degree in business from Ursinus University. He served in the United States Navy. He was employed as a production engineer for the Budd Co., the West Co., American Olean Tile, Duraflame, Shramme, and McKissic, and was also a member of the St. Matthew's United Church of Christ, where he was a Sunday School teacher.
Mr. Kiehl taught youth wrestling for Phoenixville Youth Wrestling, coached football at PMYC and baseball at KYAL. He was also a private baseball tutor for little leaguers. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Jamaica and was interested in military planes.
In addition to his loving wife of 10 years, Mr. Kiehl is survived by daughters, Donna J. Der, of Knightdale, NC, Gale A., wife of John Venezia, of Douglassville, son, Kent W., husband of Lisa Kiehl, of Kimberton, step-daughter, Monica L., wife of Dan Siegfried, of Jonestown, brother, Charles "Bud" Kiehl, of Montoursville, 10 grandchildren, Stacy, Jason, Jenny, Christopher, Jodi, Richard, Gregory, Kennedy, Lily, and Zander, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Caleb D. Harms. Interment will follow in the St. Matthew's United Church of Christ Cemetery, Chester Springs. Friends will be received from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Wednesday evening and from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Matthews United Church of Christ, 2350 Conestoga Road, Chester Springs, PA 19425. Condolences may be offered online at www.PhoenixvilleFuneralHome.com
