Robert L. Bedi, 92, of Arden Court in Harrisburg, formerly of Hershey and Pottstown, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026. Born January 26, 1933, in Warwick Township, Chester County, PA, he was the ninth of eleven children born to the late Joseph and Margaret (nee McElroy) Bedi. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn (nee Prizer) Bedi, as well his second and third wives, Lucille Noble Bedi and Elizabeth Buckwalter Bedi.
Robert was a graduate of West Chester State College and received his master's degree in public health from the University of Michigan. He was a US Army Veteran during the Korean War. A long-time state employee, he retired after twenty-five years of service as a statistician in the Department of Health, the Office of Administration, the Governor's Office and the Department of Labor & Industry.
He was a member of Coventry Church in Pottstown, where he and his wife Elizabeth were active in the church's meal assistance and community youth outreach programs. They headed up the church's involvement in serving meals through Pottstown Cluster. He served as a church small group leader, deacon and was a moderator in the Willing Workers Sunday school class.
For many years he regularly delivered the Sunday message at Manatawny Manor in Pottstown. He sang in choirs at the churches he attended in Hershey and Pottstown. He enjoyed family time, recreational softball, and woodworking. Later in life he learned to play the banjo and started and managed the Bucktown Banjo Brigade performing group.
Surviving are his three children; sons, Robert B. (Sonja) Bedi of Raleigh, NC, and John E. (Maria) Bedi of Chesapeake, VA: daughter, Margaret "Megg" Bedi (Kevin) Kanoff of Hershey; eleven grandchildren and many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister Mary Sellers of Pottstown, PA.
Services will be held at Coventry Church, 946 Keen Road, Pottstown PA 19465 on Friday, January 30th at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin one hour prior. Interment will be at the Brownback's UCC Cemetery in Spring City, following the service.
