Robert A. Linton, known by everyone as "Capp", 94, of Pottstown, formerly Royersford, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2019 in his residence. Born on March 24, 1925 in Lancaster, he was one of twelve children born to the late Beatrice (Tammany) and John Linton. He was married for 38 years to his loving wife, Eileen A. (Horrocks) Linton, who passed away in 2011.
Having served in the United States Army, Army Corps of Engineers, Robert marched across Europe during World War II. Robert was proud of his independence and his ability to live on his own, which he was able to accomplish until recently. He spent 44 years in Royersford after moving from the Malvern area. He was a fixture in the neighborhood around North Third Avenue, Royersford, where he stopped to talk to anyone and everybody. His two dogs were his pride and joy and he took them on daily walks until about one month ago.
Robert is survived by his children: Rick, husband of Cheryl Carmel, of Pottstown, Judy, wife of Ron Schmale, of Pottstown and Steve, husband of Alison Carmel, of Norfolk, VA; grandchildren: Melissa, wife of Andrew Grando, of NJ, Jason Carmel, of Spring City, Eric, husband of Christina Allen, of FL and Amanda, wife of Patrick Laylon of Boyertown; and great-grandchildren: Josephine and Emilia Grando and Cadence and Noah Laylon.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in Robert's name to the All 4 Paws Rescue.
