Robert E. Nihart, Sr., 66, husband of the late Eyvonne J. (DeHaven) Nihart, passed away on Friday evening, May 18, 2012, in the Phoenixville Hospital. Born in Ebensburg, East Cambria County, he was a son of the late Allard and Elizabeth (Good) Nihart.
Mr. Nihart served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a 24 year member of the Spring City American Legion. He was employed as a supervisor for 25 years at Superior Tube in Collegeville. A handyman, Mr. Nihart enjoyed doing side jobs, such as woodworking and plumbing at his rental homes.
Mr. Nihart is survived by his children, Evette, wife of Daniel Martin, of East Coventry, Robert E. Nihart Jr., of Phoenixville, and Ryan, husband of Christine Nihart, of Spring City, PA; five grandchildren, Christopher, Ethan and Sophia Stout, Rian Nihart and Daniel Martin; and siblings, Millie George, of Vintondale and Paul, husband of Joan Nihart, of Boyertown. He was preceded in death by 14 siblings.
