Robert R. Sherman, age 80, passed away peacefully at the Southeastern Veterans' Center in Spring City, PA where he resided for the last 3 years. He was the husband of Diane (Kocher) Sherman of Phoenixville, who cared for him since his stroke for 21 years. Born on July 4, 1942 in Ashland, PA, he was a son of Joseph and Helen (Najunas) Sherman
Bob kept his sense of humor and positive attitude accepting his disabilities and limitations. He enjoyed the Phillies and Eagles games, attending racing events with his sons, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Bob honorably served in the United States Army, and was a faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Phoenixville. He worked as a millwright at Phoenix Steel, and more recently as a maintenance mechanic for Glasgow, Inc. at their Bridgeport Asphalt Plant at McCoy Quarry.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia L. (Williams) Sherman, his grandson Zachery Lesher, and his brother Leonard Sherman. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, Robert, husband of Robin Sherman of Bethlehem, GA, Daniel, husband of Lori Sherman of Mohnton, PA and Leigh Ann, wife of Thomas Kolonis of Glenside, PA; two step-sons, Mark and David Volpe of Audubon, PA; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one step-granddaughter.
A private graveside service will be held in the Washington Memorial Chapel Churchyard, Valley Forge, PA.
