Robert Sherwood Barnes, age 69, beloved husband of Sharon (Pappas) Barnes, of Malvern, PA, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026 in the Paoli Hospital. Born on July 1, 1956 in Phoenixville, PA, he was a son of the late Robert F. "Bob" and Elizabeth J. "Betty" Barnes.

Rob was a graduate of Phoenixville High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Delaware, and he received his MBA from Temple University's Fox School of Business. Rob began his career with Shared Medical Systems. which was later acquired by Siemens, directly out of college, working as a trusted financial analyst with the company until his retirement after 44 years on October 1, 2023.

Rob cherished the time he spent with his family, and although much of his family has passed, he held their memories close to his heart each day. He had a love of animals, especially turtles, dogs and cats. He is now reunited with his beloved German Shepherd, Duchess,and his cat, Tabby.

Along with his wife, Rob enjoyed spending time at the beach. They were married on and enjoyed vacationing at Sunset Beach in North Carolina, and found peace in cities such as Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA.

Rob found happiness while working in his yard, cutting the grass, trimming, weeding and maintaining his property. He enjoyed listening to music and attending car shows. An avid sports fan, he was a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies. He found joy in cycling, often riding miles from home while he resided in Phoenixville, and more recently in his basement in Malvern.

In addition to his wife, Rob is survived by one niece, Laura, wife of Dan Shadow; three great-nephews, Ben, Jack and Joey; his aunt, Betty Caimi and several cousins; his brother-in-law, Jim Pappas; and his wife's aunt, Nancy Harrison. In addition to his parents, Rob was preceded in death by two siblings, Jane A., wife of the late Frank Paris and Jeffrey R. Barnes; and a nephew, Scott Paris.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., 610 Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at 11:00 am. Burial will be held privately. Friends will be received from 9:00 am - 11:00 am in the funeral home on Thursday morning.
