Robert H. Stierly, age 80, husband of Marian F. (Ottinger) Stierly, of Elverson, PA passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2013 in the Phoenixville Hospital. Born in Oaks, PA, he was a son of the late Paul B. and Anna R. (Detwiler) Stierly.

Mr. Stierly was a graduate of the Spring City High School, class of 1949. He was a member of the Brownback's United Church of Christ, and owned the Robert H. Stierly Excavating Company for over 40 years. Mr. Stierly was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons and the Tall Cedars. He obtained his private pilot's license, and enjoyed hunting.

In addition to his wife of 62 years, he is survived by two children, Frances, wife of David Fox of Morgantown, and Robert P., husband of Kathy Stierly of Morgantown; one sister, Anna May, wife of Lewis Schrack of East Coventry; three grandchildren, Jason and Justin Fox and Michael Stierly; and two great granddaughters, Taylor and Reagan Fox. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest and Edward Stierly.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the Brownback's United Church of Christ, 640 Ridge Road, Spring City, PA 19475 on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 1:00 PM. Officiating will be the Rev. Mark Stryjak. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends will be received from 12:00-1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the church at the above address.
