Obituary

Robert T. Berkey, age 81, husband of the late Patricia H. Berkey, of Linfield, PA, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at home. Born on February 12, 1944 in Pottstown, PA, he was a son of the late Wallace and Pauline (Novak) Berkey.

Mr. Berkey was a graduate of Spring-Ford High School, where he played on the basketball team. He went on to complete the carpentry program through Williamson Trade School in Media. Mr. Berkey honorably served in the National Guard and was stationed in Texas at Fort Sam Houston. He worked as a carpenter for Schappell & Hampton in Royersford, PA.

Mr. Berkey enjoyed yard work and tending to his property. He lived for his family, loved spending time with them, and especially looked forward to fishing with his children. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and enjoyed cheering on the Phillies and Eagles.

Mr. Berkey served as a Fire Police Captain for the Linfield Fire Company, and he had the honor of being the first Jr. Firefighter in Linfield.

Mr. Berkey is survived by two children, Jessica, wife of Darrin Benfield and Robert C. Sr., husband of Penny Berkey; three grandchildren, Katrina Ellis, Rachel Pauline Berkey, and Robert C. Berkey, Jr.; and four great-grandchildren, Hennessy Haverstock, Mychal Ellis, Belladonna Lilly, and Julian Lilly; and one sister-in-law, Sue Berkey, wife of the late Wallace Berkey.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service in the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA 19468 on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Rev. Charles R. O'Hara. Burial will follow in the Parker Ford Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends will be received from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at the funeral home on Thursday morning. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to St. Joseph R.C. Church, 3640 Schuylkill Road, Spring City, PA 19475.
