Robert P. Vegso, 56, husband of Constance (Ward) Vegso, of Charlestown, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2009, at his residence. Born in Phoenixville, he was a son of Emma (Wallence) Vegso, of Malvern, and the late Joseph Vegso.

Mr. Vegso was a 1971 graduate of Great Valley High School, where he played defensive tackle for the football team. He then served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a paving foreman for Exton Materials, General Asphalt, Dan Malloy Paving, and Steve Macenga Paving.

Mr. Vegso knew a little about everything and could travel around the world with a book. He loved reading and cooking.

In addition to his loving wife and mother, Mr. Vegso is survived by daughters, Kelly C. Vegso, of Coatesville, April L., wife of Scott Moosbrugger, of Thorndale, and Jessica C., wife of Jesse Chambers of West Chester, brothers, Joseph J. Vegso, of AZ, David S. Vegso, of Newtown Square, and Richard M. Vegso, of Devon, grandson, Tyler D. Chambers, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Justin Dayton.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass at St. Patrick Church, 104 Channing Avenue, Malvern, on Thursday, December 3, 2009, at 11:00 am. Officiating will be the Rev. Ralph Chieffo. Interment will follow in the Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer. Friends will be received from 10:00-11:00 am at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, 1615 West Chester Pike, Suite 102, West Chester, PA 19382.
