Roger A. Bauer, age 72, husband of Gail A. Martz-Bauer, of Harrisburg, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2013 in the Harrisburg Hospital. Born in Buffalo, NY, he was a son of the late Edward and Ruth (Speckhardt) Bauer.

Mr. Bauer grew up in Tonawanda, NY, graduating from Kenmore East High School. He received his BS in Business from Ursinus College, and served for 4 years in the United States Army. Throughout his life, he has lived in Tonawanda, NY, Lakeville, MN, Fairfield, CT, Perkiomenville, Lansdale, and Harrisburg, PA. Mr. Bauer worked for Unisys for 43 years until his retirement. He was a loyal Buffalo sports fan and was a member of the Brewery Collectibles Club of America. A devoted and loving husband, father, and friend, Roger will be greatly missed.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Bauer is survived by six children, Roger A. (Jennifer) Bauer II, Edward J. (Susan) Bauer, Keith W. (Carol) Bauer, Kevin C. (Denise) Bauer, Jennifer L. (Rich) Brickel, and David M. Martz; one sister, Gail (Robert) Siegler; ten grandchildren, Samantha, Kyle, Kathleen, Shauna, Glenn, Kimberly, Megan, Kristina, Justin, Nathan; a niece, a nephew, several cousins and in-laws; and his three pets Gabe, Rascal, and Sonia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian E. (Metz) Bauer.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be the Rev. James Roth. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10:00-11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to benefit the humane care of animals in memory of Roger Bauer to the Humane Society of Harrisburg-East Shore, 7790 Grayson Road, Harrisburg, PA 17022.
