Ronald D. Groening, age 71, husband of Margaret K. "Peg" (Kneale) Groening, of Phoenixville, PA, died Thursday evening, January 31, 2008 in the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia, PA.? Born in Wichita, KS, he was a son of the late Theodore and Malinda (Gaede) Groening.? Mr. Groening received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kansas.? He then worked for over 49 years for General Electric and the Lockheed Martin Corporation.? Mr. Groening enjoyed participating in productions at the Forge Theatre and the Ursinus College Choir.? He was a charter member of the Eastern Electric Vehicle Club, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Phoenixville.? Mr. Groening was also a Schuylkill Township auditor for many years.? ?
In addition to his wife of 30 years, Mr. Groening is survived by four children; Diane Greene, of Albuquerque, NM, Glenn Groening, of San Francisco, CA, Bruce Groening, Vinalhaven, ME, Malinda Groening, of Alameda, CA, three sisters; Carol Winkel, Judy Huff, Martha Perry, and three grandchildren.? ??
Relatives and friends are invited to his life celebration ?at the Campbell - Ennis - Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA on Monday evening, February 11, 2008 at 7:00PM.?
