Obituary

Ronald C. McCorkle, age 80, of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025, in the Southeastern Veteran's Center, Spring City. Born on July 14, 1944, in Phoenixville, he was a son of the late Anna (Walters) and Reynolds W. McCorkle.

Honorably discharged from the United States Army, Ronnie served a tour of duty in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. He worked three jobs for most of his life, including at the Mont Clare Market, A&P, Superfresh and Mastrangelo's Produce. He was also an advocate and supporter of the Royersford Baptist Church, where he had been a longtime member.

Ronnie was "Mr. Fix It" who could fix almost anything. If anyone needed anything done, he was always there. He was always fixing things for his neighbors and was known to mow and shovel much of his neighborhood. Although he never sat still and was always on the go, he did enjoy completing puzzles and playing solitaire.

Ronnie had an immense love for his family. After his retirement he was coaxed into traveling to see many placed around the world with his sisters and their husbands. Through his willingness to help others, Ronnie even moved into a relative's home to become their fulltime caretaker.

Ronnie is survived by his daughter: Bonnie E., wife of Harvey Heimbach; grandchildren: Harvey C. Heimbach III, Brandi Heimbach, and Michael Heimbach; great-grandchildren: Lily Beach, Sophia Beach, Luke Beach, and Dalton Heimbach; and siblings: Sandra, wife of Linwood Smoyer, Anna, wife of Frederick Neiffer, and Linda, wife of Robert Bates. He was preceded in death by children: Eva Marie McCorkle and Ronald McCorkle; and brother: Larry McCorkle.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Royersford Baptist Church, 452 S. Lewis Road, Royersford. Officiating will be the Rev. Sarah Strosahl-Kagi. Interment will be held privately in the Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick, PA. Friends will be received from 9:30 AM-10:45 AM at the Church.
