Obituary

Rose Marie (Paczok) Cote, age 98, wife of the late Paul J. Cote, Sr., of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025 in the Fieldstone at Chester Springs. Born on March 17, 1927 in Phoenixville, she was a daughter of the late Rose (Beregi) and Louis Paczok.

Mrs. Cote was a 1944 graduate of Phoenixville High School. She was a devoted wife and mother, primarily focusing her attention on her home and children. As her children grew, she went to work at the West Company in Phoenixville, a job she held to support the children through college and higher education. She was immensely proud of her family, as she sacrificed so much of herself to ensure their success.

Proud of her Hungarian heritage, she grew up in and around the Hungarian Reformed Church in Phoenixville, now known as Parkside United Church of Christ, where she served as girl scout leader. She was also a member of the Hungarian Club in Phoenixville. Following marriage, she has been a faithful member of St. Ann Church in Phoenixville for almost 75 years.

Affectionately known as "Tootsie", Mrs. Cote was crowned Miss Liberty in the Court of the Phoenixville Centennial Celebration of 1949. She was a volunteer and supporter of the Phoenixville Hospital Thrift Store for many years, as well as Compassionate Friends. She enjoyed walking, running, and jogging. She was an active member of the Phoenixville YMCA, even serving as an ambassador into her 80s.

Most of all, however, she loved being a grandmother and a great-grandmother. She cherished the memories she shared with her family, and she will be sorely missed.

Mrs. Cote is survived by five children, Paul Cote, Jr., Jamie Cote, Lisa Hnatin, David Cote, and Danielle Cote; seven grandchildren, Raina, Rhiannon, Jada, Moriah, Cody, Candace, and Sarah; and ten great-grandchildren, Lily, Jude, Alec, Patrick, Hannah, Elodie, Roland, Rosa, Welles, and Silas. She was preceded in death by one son, Mark J. Cote; and six siblings, Louis, Elizabeth, Julia, Robert, Alexander, and Elvie.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service in the St. Ann Chapel, 604 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Monday, January 5, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Rev.
