Rose M. Phillips, age 87, of Schwenksville, formerly of Trappe, PA, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019 in the Frederick Living Community. Born on November 25, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Luke and Elizabeth (Quinn) McDermott.

Rose was a 1949 graduate of John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls' High School in Philadelphia. She worked for Merck, Sharp and Dohme in Philadelphia, Phillips Electric in Trappe and ended her working career as a purchasing agent for T.J. Cope in Collegeville. Rose volunteered for and belonged to various community organizations. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, Member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Trappe Fire Company, member of the St. Eleanor's Women's Auxiliary, and a member of the Red Hat Society (Lunch Bunch). Proud of her Irish Heritage, she was also a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians. She had a special affection for her Philadelphia Eagles. Rose loved to dance, enjoyed sewing and also liked gardening.

Rose is survived by five children, Joseph M. Phillips of Mohrsville, PA, Kathleen M., wife of John Peifer of Pottstown, PA, Rosalie M., wife of Peter Petersen of Winter Garden, FL, Denise M., wife of Larry Emel of Gilbertsville, PA, and Donna M., wife of Christopher Seifarth of Schwenksville, PA; eleven adored grandchildren, Ryan (Jennifer) Souder, Shannon (Chad) Davis, Brooke (Tom) Meaney, Peter (fiance of Courtney Armstrong) Petersen, Kyle Petersen, Wesley Emel, Ethan Emel, Tyler Emel, Angela (Dave D'Andrea) Spinozzi, Maria (Phil Jochimsen) Spinozzi, and Jonathan Seifarth; nine loving great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Brendan, Austin, Jase, Jack, Reese, Rocco, Leighton, Ka'mari; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three siblings, Elizabeth "Betty" Long, John "Jack" McDermott and Luke McDermott, and her former husband, Joseph M. Phillips, Sr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass at St. Teresa of Calcutta R.C. Church, 256 Swamp Pike, Schwenksville, PA on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. Paul C. Brandt. Burial will be held in the Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick, PA. Friends will be received from 9:30am - 10:45am Saturday at the Church.
