Obituary

Rose (Nesspor) Szabo, 89, wife of Charles S. Szabo, of Phoenixville, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2013, in her residence. Born in Phoenixville, she was a daughter of the late Wasyl and Catherine Nesspor.

Mrs. Szabo was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, where she had been a past president of the Ladies Sodality. She had been instrumental in fundraising to build the Church, and built Szabo's Grove on the family property to raise funds for the Church.

Rose loved to cook, having cooked from scratch every weekend for family members to visit. Her world was the family farm and she loved dogs, cats and farm animals.

In addition to her loving husband of 68 years, Mrs. Szabo is survived by her sons, Robert, husband of Kathleen Szabo, of Mill Spring, NC and Donald J. Szabo, of Phoenixville; brother, Paul Nesspor, of Phoenixville, granddaughter, Vanja Szabo; and great grandchildren, Ryan and Stephanie. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Matt Szabo.

Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, May 2, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Fairview and St. Mary's Street, Phoenixville, with the Rev. Stepan Bilyk officiating. Interment will follow in the Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening, May 1, 2013, at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Rose's name to the Evercare Hospice, 700 American Avenue, Suite 206, King of Prussia, PA 19406.
