Ruth E. (McFarland) Dare, age 95, wife of the late Henry H. Dare, of Royersford, PA, died Thursday afternoon, January 29, 2009 in the Manatawny Manor Nursing Home. Born in Pottstown, she was a daughter of the late Warren and Bertha (Lewis) McFarland. Mrs. Dare worked for over 45 years as a secretary at the Spring City Knitting Company. She was the oldest living member of the St. Vincent United Church of Christ in Phoenixville. Mrs. Dare was also an active member of the Pottstown Region Antique Automobile Club. She was devoted to her family all of her life.

Mrs. Dare is survived by one son; Robert H., husband of Betty (Poley) Dare, of Royersford, one sister; Dorothy Hetrick, of Royersford, two grandchildren; Robert H. Dare and Diane Testa, four great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Dare was pre-deceased by three brothers; Harold, Ernest and Paul McFarland.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Benjamin D. Motz. Burial will be in the St. Vincent United Church of Christ Cemetery, Phoenixville.
