Ruth E. (Wagner) Shaner, 75, of Phoenixville, passed away on Sunday morning at her home surrounded by family. She was the wife of the late J. Richard Shaner, who died January 30, 2009. She was also preceded in death by husbands Joseph Mickiewicz and John Craner.

Born in Royersford, she was a daughter of the late Vernon and Mary (Stauffer) Wagner. In addition to being a homemaker, she was employed as the Executive Director for Mongtomery County Housing Authority and also as a secretary for Plotts Bros. Heating and Oil Company.

She is survived by her children: Pat Callow, Gail Bell, Joni Craner-Robertson, partner of Sue Robertson, John, husband of Missy Craner, Sharon, wife of Stephen Doms, Robin, wife of David Bortz, Brenda wife of John Gallo, Betty Lou, wife of George Quay, Rick, husband of Robin Shaner, Sonia, wife of Frank Wasco, Janice Yonkoske, Preston Shaner, Lydia Tallarico, a sister, Eleanor Kacanda, eighteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

Her funeral service will be held on Thursday morning at 10 AM at Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washinston Street, Royersford, PA. Officiating will be Rev. Greg Joyner. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Spring City, PA. Visitation will be on Wednesday evening from 7-8:30 PM and Thursday 9-10 AM.
