Ruth P. Swier, 88, of Phoenixville, passed away on Friday, January 06, 2012 at Parkhouse Providence Pointe. She was the widow of Robert E. Swier, who died in 1996.

Born in Phoenixville, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Mary (Stoy) Peppel. After graduating from Phoenixville High School, she served in the Navy during World War II, worked for the railroad, then became a wife, mother and homemaker.

She is survived by her children: Jane A., wife of Joel Meshey, of Phoenixville, Connie J., wife of Sam Gaines, of New Braunfels, TX, Ann A. Hammaker, of Stowe, Jean M., wife of James Hazzard, of Schwenksville and Richard M., husband of Nancy Garwood, of Gaithersburg, MD; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
