Mrs. Sallie Irene "Rene" (Ziegler) LaPish died peacefully in Boyertown, PA at the age of 90.

Rene is survived by her children Sallie and Richard Astheimer of Green Lane, Florence Sheikh and Jack Staunton of Wellesley, MA, Dora and George Landis of Goldsboro, MD and Jennifer Clarke of Limerick. In addition to her children, Rene leaves 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Rene also leaves her devoted companion, Mr. Frank Miller of Limerick as well as many beloved, lifelong friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, George Yerger and Benjamin LaPish and eight siblings.

Rene was born on December 14, 1926 in Limerick, PA to the late Elmer W. and Sallie M. (Sherman) Ziegler. She graduated from Pottstown High School in 1942 and married George Yerger, in 1946. After George's death, Rene remarried Benjamin LaPish and enjoyed their marriage, often traveling and spending time with friends. Later in life, Rene found love and support from her longtime companion, Mr. Frank Miller.

Rene was an active and dedicated member of St. James United Church of Christ where, over several decades, she served as a Sunday School teacher and choir member. She cared deeply for her church and was a devoted neighbor to the congregation as well. She enjoyed gardening, being outdoors and attending local sporting events.

A celebration of Rene's life will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 11:30 am at St. James UCC, 321 S. Limerick Rd., Limerick, PA. Friends will be received from 10:30-11:30 AM. Burial will follow in Limerick Garden of Memories. In lieu of flowers, please memorial contributions may be made to St. James UCC at the above address.
