Samuel E. Fryer, 76, husband of the late Sally L. (Lowe) Fryer, of East Coventry, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2019 in Seasons Hospice. Born on March 1, 1943 in Phoenixville, he was a son of the late Elizabeth (Smith) and Enos L. Fryer.

Samuel had been employed as a machinist for the former Diamond Glass Co., in Royersford, until its closing and then at Graco, in Elverson, until his retirement. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, shooting and reloading, trapshooting and fishing and had been a life member of the Lower Pottsgrove Sportsmens Club, the Northern Chester County Rod and Gun Club, the NRA and the New Kilborn hunting camp in Potter County where he loved to hunt and fish. He had also been a member of the Spring-Ford Lodge #533 FandAM, the Pottstown Quoit Club, the Royersford Hookies, and the Spring City American Legion and was formerly a very active member with Humane Fire Co., in Royersford. Samuel also enjoyed westerns and John Wayne movies. Most importantly, he was a loving father and grandfather and devoted husband for 52 years at the time of Sally's death in 2017.

Mr. Fryer is survived by his sons: Samuel E. Fryer, Jr., and his wife Beth, of Royersford, David J. Fryer, and his wife Judy, of Pottstown and Matthew Allen Fryer, of Pottstown; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and siblings: Betty Lou Long, of Boyertown, William Fryer, of Royersford and Thomas Fryer, of Boyertown.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be the Rev. David R. Willauer. Interment will be follow in the Fernwood Cemetery, Royersford. Friends will be received from 9:30 am - 10:45 am at the funeral home. A Masonic Service will begin at 10:45 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sam's name to a charity of choice.
