Samuel Richard "Rick", AKA Pop Pop Mourar, 63, of Spring City, PA, passed away on Sunday, August 17th, 2014 at his home following a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was the husband of Sharon L. (Chinski) Mourar.
He was born in Pottstown, PA to the late Stephen Reeves Mourar and Sophie Lawrence. Rick was a graduate of Owen J. Roberts High School, in Pottstown, PA. He was a long-time employee in the Aerospace industry for General Electric, Lockheed Martin and most recently General Dynamics. Early in his career, Rick ran his own tree servicing company which helped to foster his long-time love of birds. He spent many hours watching and listening to many breeds including his favorite hummingbirds. Some of his other passions included gardening as he was known for his famous tomatoes and cucumbers, golfing; regardless of par, wood working and spending most of his time laughing with and loving his grandkids. Rick will be remembered for his strong will and generous heart, always thinking of others before himself.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Kristee L. Mourar of Eagleview; Nicole L., wife of Randy Kahny, of Exton, PA; three grandchildren: Rhett, Alex and Grayson; one brother, Stephen Mourar, Jr. and his wife, Dr. Dawn Middleton of Spring City, PA.
His services will be celebrated on Friday, August 22nd at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA at 11AM. Officiating will be Rev. Kevin A. Babcock. Friends will be received on Friday from 10-11AM at the funeral home.
