Born in Grand Rapids, MI, she was a daughter of George Ferrell Sr., husband of Nancy Muncy-Ferrell of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and the late Pearl (Benning) Corbett.

Sandra graduated from Great Valley High School, and attended Immaculata College.
