Sandra D. (Davey) Wengert, 65, of Skippack, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2008, in the Mercy Suburban Hospital. Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Charles J. and Edna R. (Reed) Davey.
Mrs. Wengert was a 1961 graduate of Spring-Ford High School, received a B.S. in Elementary Education from Kutztown State College, and received a Masters in Education from Rosemont Masters Technical Ed.
Mrs. Wengert was a member of the Royersford United Methodist Church and taught for over 35 years at Perkiomen Valley schools until her 2000 retirement. She was a member of the PA State Education Association, the National Education Association, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and the P.V. Education Association. She was also a member of the AARP and the Methacton Community Theater.
Mrs. Wengert is survived by son Michael A. Wengert, brother Kenneth R. Davey, of Rochester, NY, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles F. Davey, Sr., and Edward M. Davey.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, on Saturday, January 3, 2009, at 10:00 AM. Officiating will be the Rev. Lee Adams. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
