Santina "Sandy" J. Beckius, age 84, of Audubon, PA, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at her home in Shannondell. Born on September 11, 1939 in Birdsboro, PA, she was a daughter of the late Pasquale and Antonia (Tizziani) Dolenti.

Sandy was a graduate of Pottstown High School, and she received her associate's degree in nursing from Montgomery County Community College. She worked as the director of nursing at Kearsley Christ Church Hospital in Philadelphia. She then went on to retire as the director of nursing from Meadowood in Worcester.

Sandy was lovingly married to Donald E. Beckius, a Captain and pilot during Vietnam in the U.S. Air Force from Nebraska, until his passing in 1994. They were stationed in several locations throughout the years, including overseas in Japan, and they traveled extensively together.

For over 20 years Sandy was an active member of the Thomas Paine Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Collegeville, and devoted much of her time volunteering on committees and participating in events associated with the fellowship. While living at Shannondell, Sandy enjoyed making many friends and partaking in the Current Events Discussion Group. She was an avid reader and member of several book clubs, and enjoyed socializing, talking with and being around friends. She was fond of flower arranging and the outdoors, and as a member of the Liberty Bell Wanders she loved hiking and nature, often traveling to other states for multi-day hikes. She was a lover of dogs and animals in general and had a particular fondness for Boston Terriers. For many years her walks included one of her own by her side.

She was a keen observer interested in the backgrounds, behaviors, and beliefs of others across the globe. More personally, she had a wonderful ability to remember even the smallest details of her friends and family's greatest accomplishments.

Sandy is survived by two children, Susan Beckius, wife of Dana Gullo and Matthew, husband of Valarie Beckius; two grandchildren, Maria Gullo and Evan Beckius; and one brother, Pasquale "Junior" Dolenti Jr. She was preceded in death by five siblings, Mike, Alfred, Ralph, Louie, and Leonard Dolenti.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at the Thomas Paine Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 3424 Ridge Pike, Collegeville, PA 19426 on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 2:00 PM. Officiating will be Rev. Andrew Weber. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received from 1:00 PM- 2:00 PM at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the World Wildlife Fund (worldwildlife.org/donate), to the National Park Foundation (nationalparks.org/donate), or to the ASPCA (aspca.org/donate).
